    Cancellation Policy

    Free cancellation up to 24 hours before commencement of the tour

    Cancellations are a difficult affair for both us and our customers, and we always try to approach them with a common sense attitude.

    Full refund — free cancellation policy applies to all customers who test positive for Covid-19 at any time before their tour. Covid test evidence must be presented to qualify.

    For all other cancellations, please read the full policy below.

    Why we have this policy

    You must be aware that there is a financial implication to cancelling a trip at the last minute. Our set costs per tour are the same regardless of passenger numbers, and we only take a maximum of 18 adult customers per join-in tour. We also pre-book many of the activities undertaken on the day of your trip, all of which are non-refundable.

    Illness

    If you cancel due to sickness and we are unable to place you on another trip, you can visit a doctor and obtain a medical certificate. We can then issue you with a receipt for the money paid to Simba, which can be claimed back from the majority of holiday insurance providers.

    In the case of sickness, we will always try to move you to an alternative date, but where a reschedule is not possible the standard cancellation policy still applies and the full balance amount is due on the booked trip day. As we limit the number of customers on each trip we are often fully booked and a reschedule may not be possible.

    Bad weather

    If Simba cancels a trip due to bad weather, we will have done so taking into consideration the group's safety, the safety of the vessel, current weather forecasts and satellite imagery. In this instance your deposit or full balance will be refunded in full on the day your trip was cancelled.

    If we cancel due to bad weather and we cannot find an alternative date during your time in Phuket, we will return the full amount paid on the day your trip was cancelled.

    Deposit & payment policy

    For your peace of mind, we have outlined our deposit and payment policy below.

    All our tour prices are all-inclusive: they include Thai VAT, booking processing fees, national park fees where applicable, insurance for eligible passengers, hotel transfers within Phuket, food and non-alcoholic beverages as described in each tour listing, and all equipment needed for the day.

    At checkout you will have the option to:

    1. Pay the full tour price at the time of booking, or
    2. Pay a deposit only to secure your seats, with the outstanding balance due on the day of your tour. The balance can be settled when you arrive at our office at Soho Pool Club, Boat Lagoon Marina.

    Payments are made via credit card through our booking partner Bokun and payment processor Stripe — the quickest, safest and easiest method for both us and you. When you complete your booking, you will receive a booking confirmation email that includes the amount paid and any balance owing (not including any applicable out-of-Phuket transfer surcharge).

    We hold your deposit in our account until the day of your trip. All currency conversions are set to the standard rate on the day you pay (the exchange rate is set by Stripe).

    Cancellation rules — please read

    (1) Cancellations for any reason within 24 hours of the trip, (2) no-show, or (3) missed tour due to late arrival via own transport to the departure point will result in 100% of the total cost being charged.

    This means the full cost of the trip or trips booked. If you paid a deposit only, you would not only lose the deposit — you would also be required to pay the balance stated on the confirmation email.

    Note: if Simba is able to re-book your seats to other customers, a full refund will be provided as soon as possible.

    Group bookings

    If you have booked a group and one or more passengers does not show on the morning of the trip, the person who made the booking is required to pay the full balance for the missing passengers. Please take note of this before booking a Simba Sea Trip on behalf of a group.

    Cancellation by Simba

    If Simba cancels a trip for any reason and cannot reschedule during your time in Phuket, we will refund 100% of all amounts paid as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. Simba reserves the right to cancel a tour where minimum passenger numbers are not met, or for operational, safety or weather reasons — in all such cases a full refund or suitable alternative will be offered.

    Your agreement

    By paying your deposit or full balance to Simba Sea Trips, you agree to be bound by this Cancellation Policy together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
